Mach Pie: The Origin Story

By machpie
Born of a bumper sticker:

I received an IMPEACH bumper sticker by the Peace Resource Project for Christmas (2005, I think) and never got around to putting it on my car.  I finally decided I should do something with it, but 2008 having rolled around, seemed a bit pointless to slap it on as-is (let’s face it, mediocrity triumphed).  So I decided to play the Bumper Sticker Anagram Game®.

Top contenders were PEACH IM (cute, but again, pointless), EACH IMP (fun, but just didn’t fire my rockets somehow), and MACH PIE (Ding!)  I loved the play on speed and Speed Racer (I drive a ‘94 Ford Escort Wagon–I don’t achieve mach anything…) and the Pi/Pie pun.  Oh yes, Mach Pie was it.  Broke out the paper cutter, chopped up the sticker, and stuck it on.  At last: cruising down the road at 3.14 times the speed of silly…

Enter the Logo:

Approx. 3.14 times the speed of silly

Y’know, just to clarify…

And here I am:

I’ve been journaling pretty heavily on okcupid and have gotten some decent positive feedback.  My small–if somewhat polyamorous–following make me smile.  And I try to return the favor.  So I’m graduating to a fer realz blahg (I affectionately refer to the jouranl feature on okc as my journalblahgz) to try and spread the giggles.  Silly cerebral droppings ahead.

I think I missed the discussion where you’d explained this on okc, so it’s good that you’ve been so…thorough here. :) Lurve the pi. Pie’s good, too. Oh, and crap, and oh, it’s time to go bike places. Whee!
